Gatanga Constituency comprises of:

  • Gatanga district
  • Ithanga Division
  • Mitumbiri Division

Constituency Offices are located at Ithanga(Junction) and Mabanda shopping centres.The M.P is available in these offices on Thursdays and Tuesdays respectively.
Gatanga district has 5 Divisions namely:

  • Gatanga division
  • Kariara Division
  • Kigoro Division
  • Kihumbu-ini Division
  • Samuru Division

The District headquarters are at Mabanda shopping centre but will relocate to the newly constructed complex at Gatanga shopping centre in June 2011.
Gatanga Division comprises of:

  • Mugumo-ini Location
  • Kigio location
  • Gatanga location
  • Kiriaini Location

Kariara Division has 4 Locations namely:

  • Ngabuya Location
  • Mbugiti Location
  • Kariara Location

Kigoro Division comprises of:

  • Ndunyu Chege Location
  • Kigoro Location
  • Ndaka-ini Location

Kihumbu-ini Division has 3 Locations namely:

  • Kiunyu Location
  • Kihumbu-ini Location
  • Mukarara Location

Samuru Division comprises of:

  • Muthuri Location
  • Samuru Location

Mitumbiri division comprises of:

  • Mitumbiri Location
  • Mukeu Location (Proposed)
  • Thuthua Location(Proposed)
  • Nanga Location(proposed)

Ithanga Division comprises of:

  • Kakuzi Location
  • Ithanga Location
  • Ngelelya location

Gatanga Constituency is a Vast highly resourceful constituency in Kenya. Bordering; Kinangop, Gatundu North, Juja, Yatta, Masinga, Maragua, Kandara and Kigumo Constituencies.

For effective administration and equitable service to our constituents Gatanga Constituency has 14 Councilors, 11 of whom are elected and 3 are nominated.
Due to our highly Laborious constituents this has led to the Constituency having 2 District Commissioners and 6 District Officers to facilitate the efficiency of the increasing developments.

Based on need for responsibility and equitable allocation of resources from Government to the constituency development 5 Committees established on Parliamentary rules of Kenya have been created;

  • Gatanga Constituency Development Committee
  • Gatanga Stimulus Project Management Committee (Economic stimulus programme)
  • Gatanga Constituency Project Tender Committee (Economic stimulus programme)
  • Gatanga Constituency Bursary Committee
  • Gatanga Constituency AIDS Control Committee

To further facilitate quick and efficient service delivery to the people of Gatanga,we have a fully fledged district treasury at Mabanda shopping centre with all the relevant district departmental heads.
